Random Sundays: Seedlings In The Garden

Seedlings!

I spent some time at my Mom’s this weekend and she’s right on track with her garden.  I’m so getting her to help me with mine, and trust me, I need the help!

Meanwhile, the weather was so nice we all had to take advantage of it.   Drake the Dog had a great time running around the huge backyard and wrestling with Luke, as you can tell.

Baby didn’t know what to make of the grass.  She just sat there and grimaced every time her hand touched it.

Random Sundays: Bi-polar Sunshine

An alleyway in Venice.

I love the colors and the crooked tower.

Me waiting with all our luggage loaded off the ship.

Since today it’s been sunny and then snowy my mind has been wandering to more beautiful sights then the bi-polar weather here in Toronto.  I find myself thinking about Venice.  And I found my favorite shots of Venice to be things like alleyways and a buliding rather than the traditional canal with gondola because everyone has those shots and everyone has seen those shots.   I appreciated Venice, and I loved the windy streets from a military aspect (because well, I am a martial artist), but I didn’t fall in love with Venice as others have.  Don’t get me wrong, if someone offered me a trip there I wouldn’t refuse! It just wouldn’t be my first choice of anywhere in the world.

It does bring a smile to my face though.

You know what else brings a smile to my face?  This little ray of sunshine riiiight here.

Random Sundays: Part Two – A Hodge-Podge Of A Day

Baby was so cute playing and babbling in her crib first thing this morning!
Here it is, part two of this week’s Random Sunday post.

This morning my Mom and I went to get haircuts.  I have been going to Tanya for years.  Not only is she beautiful, cool, and super nice, but she’s an amazing hairstylist to boot!  *I realize I should’ve taken a better photo of the fabulous lady in question, but alas, I did not*  I started going to her many moons ago, and have followed her everywhere.  I kept telling my Mom to go see her for about a year, and when she finally went she fell in love and has not gone anywhere else since.  These days she works out of her home, located in Mississauga.  So if you’re in the GTA and need a great stylist, email me…I’ll give you her number.

My Mom getting her hair washed by Tanya.
And since I said I was getting a haircut, here it is:

Ta Da!

*you’re getting a sneak peek at the dress post I’ll be doing tomorrow*

Once home,  Husband and I headed out for his birthday lunch while my Mom and Babcia watched the little munchkin.   He had wanted to go for sushi, but it was closed; so we went to a ‘European’ restaurant, which was really just Polish food.  If I had wanted that, I would’ve stayed home.  But no, seriously, it was yummy.
Since he considers himself and honorary Pole by marriage, he had to get a Polish beer with lunch.
Then it was dessert at the local organic coffee roastery.
The day was topped off with playing with Baby, a walk, and now it’s time for some herbal tea.
I know, we’re wild!
And that’s our Sunday. Goodnight.  See y’all tomorrow!

Random Sundays: Part One – Out For A Walk

Cardi – H&M; Shirt – thrifted; Jeans – AE; Belt – thrifted; Choes – Thrifted; Sunglasses – F21

Remember how I said yesterday was a beautiful day?  Well, the whole family went for a walk around the pond.  It was amazing to walk around in the warm sunshine after a long winter of cold-and-dreary.

I changed after my run into a great walking outfit.  Boyfriend jeans and a cardigan.  And of course a funky t-shirt. I have a lot of those.

I managed to nab the cutest photo of my family when we got home:

Today’s post is simply too big for one go, so I’ve divided it up to two parts.
Stay tuned for part two, coming up later.

Random Sundays: Spring Is Springing Near The Pond

We went for a little walk today in the park down by the pond.  It’s not beautiful there yet, but you can see spring starting to make itself known.

It was a family outing…

Husband is thrilled to shed his winter coat.

I love being able to wear my Mei Tai.  It’s so easy to just strap Baby on and go.
She loves to be cuddled in close.  Jacket – Jacob; Hat – Ruche; Glasses – F21; Jeans – Guess.

Baby’s still not feeling herself, but here fever broke and we can breathe a sigh of relief on that front.  So things are looking up.

Oh, and Drake the Dog got a bath not too long after this walk….he was decidedly displeased!

Random Sundays: Truly Random But Lots Of Fun!

So today really is a bunch of randoms!  Let’s get to it shall we?

Here’s my outfit today…at least part of the day since I’m still not feeling up to scrap.  Sweater – H&M; Shirt – clothing swap; Necklace – F21; Jeans – Guess

Drake the Dog thinks he absolutely needs to be in every shot!

Close-up of my necklace.
Remember how I said I hosted a clothing swap?  Olivia scored these shoes there.
And they look just smashing on her! *I really wanted to use the word ‘smashing’ – and with an english accent in my head*
And here is my masterpiece…dun duh duh dun!!!
My two kids, both looking out the window together.

Random Sundays: Baby and I

You know I don’t post pics of Baby on this blog, but I thought since her face isn’t in this shot I would show you all how big she’s getting.  She’s crawling and standing and cruising.  And, of course, she’s getting into everything!!  She’s such a curious little munchkin.

That’s her blankie there in the picture…and it gives her comfort when she sleeps and when she tumbles (which she does a lot since she insists on standing and trying all sorts of new things).

And I love to see her big grin and little bum bounce when she’s dancing along to music.  So cute!

Random Sundays: Clothing Swap!

What I brought to the swap.
Continued. See the “change room” I created behind the screen?

Yesterday I organized a clothing swap between friends.  About six of us participated and it was a blast!  There ended up being so much clothing that I filled all three racks to brimming, laid out pants and tops along the hallway, and hung stuff over Baby’s playpen.  And during the event one clothing rack actually fell down under the strain!!  Now that’s a fashionistas dream.

All of us ladies walked away with something we wanted and really liked.  And most of us walked away with a ton of stuff.  I myself scored some pretty sweet tops and pants.  Clothing swaps are a great thing ’cause you reuse, recycle, and get new stuff for free!

Here’s a shot of an outfit made from yesterday’s acquisitions!

Necklace – from Beckie; Shirt – from Danielle; Pants – from Olivia; Bag – from Emily; Shoes – mine.

Random Sundays: Skinny Little Shrimp

I didn’t post yesterday, as you know.  Sorry.  The day was cold, rainy, dreary and I got to my breaking point.  I hit critical mass.  I spent much of the day crying.  Just exhausted, as most moms know.  We all have those days.  So I thought it was better I didn’t post.  I would have had nothing nice to say.  Today, I’m better.  Nothing is different, just not crying all day.  Always good.  So I figured I should check in.

And to brighten all our days, here’s Drake the Dog before I got my hands on him…

Before….

And here’s what he looks like after…

After!

I forget how tiny and skinny he is.  He gets all puffed up in the winter with the fur, and we think he’s so sturdy.  Then I shave him and we realize that no, he’s still a skinny, little shrimp!

True Story:  All Baby wants to do is stand!  Non-stop.  All day long.  Everywhere.  Doesn’t matter how many bruises she gets.  Allllll day.  Tiring but hilarious!  And tonight she stood up and started dancing to the music (really just bouncing, but still to the music).  Sooo cute, if I do say so myself.  And I did.  To myself.  Several times.

Random Sundays: Snow, Shoots, and Spoiling.

Drake the Dog and Husband playing in the snow.

Drake the Dog loves fresh snow…it’s like his personal caffiene!

This morning I woke up to another winter wonderland.  Now, a few months ago (say December) this would be lovely.  But we’ve had soooo much winter that this morning it was….ugh, not again! But I’m cheered by the fact that it’s almost March and spring really is just around the corner…as are spring fashions!!

And guess what guys?  I got some clothes and a pair of shoes today.  Now, I know what you’re thinking, “You said you wouldn’t shop.”  But I didn’t.  I swear.  I went shopping with my Mama *she needed some retail therapy* and she treated me to a few things.  Husband smirked and called me spoiled, but you know what?  Sometimes our Mamas just gotta spoil us right?  Sometimes we need it a little.  And there’s nothing wrong with that.

On my way to the photoshoot.

This evening I went to a fun, guerilla style photoshoot.  We shot in the parking lot of a mall, turned some eyes, and hopefully got some phenomenal shots.  I’m excited about seeing the finished product, as the photographer, Joshua, is mucho talented.  Ill keep you posted and show you some shots as soon as I can!
