A Walk To Remember

So yesterday I mentioned the challenge of dressing for cool mornings and hot afternoons.  The shedding of layers meant that by the time we headed out for a sunset walk I was down to just a dress, hat and large sunnies.

It’s so great now that Baby is getting really good at walking because that means we all head out together and watch her waddle down the gravel path, picking things up and talking the whole way.

Her favorite part is when we get to the bridge and big rock where she gets her first look of all the ducks and Canade Geese on the pond.

My Father-In-Law is usually very proper, but sometimes he busts out some hilarious faces.  This shot was nabbed by Husband, and though out of focus, it’s one of my favs!

You can hear Baby yelling “Qua!  Qua!” all throughout the walk!  And she makes sure that everyone knows exactly what they are…just in case you were wondering.

While there, we witnessed a huge flock of geese landing on the pond.

True Story:
The guys did the cooking….in my aprons.  Awesome!

Random Sundays: So MIA

I’ve been tired and busy, which makes me more tired, and I’ve totally ignored you lovely fabulous people.  Sorry!  It feels like I haven’t posted anything in decades *though it’s only been, um, two days*  I won’t be missing in action like this for a while….I don’t think.

Here’s a tiny sneak peek of the engagement shoot I did with an amazing couple.  I’m still editing, but boy is that part fun!

And did you know that a kitchen table doubles as a jungle jim?

True Story:
We’re walking around the pond and suddenly we hear a splash!  Drake the Dog, always afraid of water, has dived in and starting swimming after the ducks hoping to catch one.
And he’s still wearing his leash.
We were shocked, proud, and terrified that he was going to drown!
And it’s dirty, nasty pond water too.
Yup.

Random Sundays: Friends And Family

Baby and Drake causing mischief in the yard.

Grumpy face.

We’re both really tired today.

Today’s been a rough day.  I’ve cried a lot.  But now thanks to my dear friend Emily I feel a whole lot better.  Aren’t friends the absolute best?  I think so.
Plus, watching my sweet family in the yard makes me so happy.

Quote of Today:
“How can I get anything done with a baby between my legs?”

Random Sunday: Sunshine and Grammatical Humor

I love the sunshine in the morning.  It always seems so happy to be awake, even when I’m not.
Here’s it playing on my kitchen wall.

And through my window.
And guess what?
I baked!
Momentous, I know.
I made these breakfast cookies here from my friend’s website *with a few alterations*
Baby loved them too.  She went, “Mmmmmm!”

And I had to add this ’cause it’s so funny.  I really like grammatical  humor.
*I don’t know where this pic is from, but a friend posted it on facebook*

Random Sundays: Body Slam!

It’s a beautiful Sunday here.  And I’ve spent the day gardening – did you know my skin is allergic to tomato plants?  I didn’t.  But I get a hug rash on my arms after pruning those plants.  The best part of my day is always taking Baby to the park.  She loves to crawl, climb, peek, and touch.  And she loves it when there’s other kids there.  It’s the most fascinating thing to her – other kids.

True Story:
Baby does full out body slams on us.  We lay on the bad, ground or couch.  She comes over, stands near us, raises her arms and full one throws herself on top of us.  It’s hilarious!  And each time we cheer, “Body Slam!”

Random Sundays: Kevin Sorbo

Last night I went to see this show.

With these awesome folks.
And saw this awesome guy.

Awesome show, really was…awesome.
*sorry for the bad shots but all I had with me was a little point and shoot*

Random Sundays: *silence*

Random Sundays: All About People

Here’s who was lurking in my garden…

The lovely Miss Olivia channeling the ’70’s with her awesome hair.

Mark, showing me his “pick-up” face.  Ladies, if you see this face, you’re about to be hooked!

Just a random straight on portrait of me.
Happy Sunday!  See y’all tomorrow!

True Story:
Baby tried to pick up Drake the Dog like one of her toys.
Didn’t go over so well with him.
Large grunt and running away onto the couch.
On his part, not hers.

Random Sundays: Pool Crazy

We went to my Mom’s house today where we played in the pool and bbq-ed.
Baby loved trying to walk all around the huge backyard.

Drake went swimming, though he wasn’t a big fan of it.

As soon as he got out, he went crazy running around like a maniac in the yard.

Husband made me pose like a pin-up before I jumped in the pool *pardon the racoon eyes – my mascara was running*

I took Baby in the pool, but she started crying ’cause the water was too cold for her.  So out we went.

A final walk after diner ended with me carrying Baby home.
Now dinner’s done, Baby’s asleep, and it’s time to play cards with the family.
Happy Sunday!
See you all tomorrow!

Random Sundays: This One’s For You Baby

Random Sundays are usually just that, random.  But regardless, I always prefer a theme.  Today’s post is all about babies – my babies to be specific – and all the hijinks they get into.

First off, remember how I told you that Baby climbs her stroller?  Well, I finally manged to grab a few shots of that intrepid adventure.

Now you see why I have to watch her allllll the time.  The second I turn my back she’s off to scale the stroller, or the high chair, or anything she can.

And here’s how my other babies are doing.  *despite my heretofore black thumb*

Since we’re on the subject of food.  I finally cooked something for the first time since we moved into the house *over a year ago*.  That’s right.  I made spaghetti.  From scratch. Sort of.  I used rice pasta and a pre-packaged tomato sauce *gasp! don’t tell my numerous babies above* But the rest – meat,  veggies, etc. – I made myself.  All by myself.

Baby loved it!

Then my other baby, Drake, helped himself to dinner as well.  He did double duty really; ate dinner and helped me clean Baby’s tray at the same time.  Ambitious little multi-tasker!

True Story:
My Mama came to visit today.
She walked through the door and wasn’t here an hour before she cleaned my stove.
I love Mamas.
They come over and clean things.
Or cook things.
Either one is good really.
