Dress 60: Always Be Prepared

Take One:  Cardi – F21; Belt – AE; Dress F21; Shoes – Payless

Take Two:  Shirt – thrifted

Today I styled two different outfits for the next dress in my challenge.  Why, you may ask?  Well, Baby’s still sick.  That means that I end up with puke, spit-up, or poo on my clothes at some point…and then I need to change.  Normally, spit-up is not a big deal, but all this stuff is extra gross since she’s sick.  So it’s better for both of us if I get it off me as soon as possible.

On another note, I’m really liking maxi dresses right now.  Can’t wait to wear more!

Husband liked styling number 2 more.  You?

Dress 59: Sometimes I Don’t Mind The Rain

Umbrella – Walmart; Dress – Tulle; Leggings – F21; Socks – stolen from Husband; Wellies – Petite Pieds.

A rainy day here in Toronto, but I’m not letting that stop me from looking cute.  It was time to bring out the wellies!  This is a cute dress from Tulle, but it fits me a little wierd.  It’s really loose on top, but tight on the bottom.  I’m thinking it’ll look awesome tucked into a skirt or pants (i.e. worn as a ‘top’).  Do you like it on me???  Trash, stash, or save?

Last night Husband asked me how my no shopping thing is going.  Not bad.  I’ve kind of failed a little – broke my own rules and bought something I shouldn’t have.  But overall, I’ve really curbed my shopping.  So, even though I wracked myself with guilt over the fact that I bought a couple of things I shouldn’t have *on principle, not because I spent too much money or anything* I’m doing pretty well.  I’m trying not to be too hard on myself too, you know?  I’m not perfect.  I’m fallible.  But I think I’m doing a good job so far.

Random Sundays: Spring Is Springing Near The Pond

We went for a little walk today in the park down by the pond.  It’s not beautiful there yet, but you can see spring starting to make itself known.

It was a family outing…

Husband is thrilled to shed his winter coat.

I love being able to wear my Mei Tai.  It’s so easy to just strap Baby on and go.
She loves to be cuddled in close.  Jacket – Jacob; Hat – Ruche; Glasses – F21; Jeans – Guess.

Baby’s still not feeling herself, but here fever broke and we can breathe a sigh of relief on that front.  So things are looking up.

Oh, and Drake the Dog got a bath not too long after this walk….he was decidedly displeased!

Dress 58: How Do You Leave Your Sick Child?

Heading out to a shoot.

Dress – Bershka

Boots – Aldo
Jacket – ?; Shirt – Smart Set; Sunglasses – F21

Hey guys, I’ll have a Randomd Sundays post for you later on today.  But for now, I thought I’d post some pics of the dress I wore yesterday.  I wore it to go shoot a film in Hamilton. *you can read about that here*  I felt bad about going since Baby is sick and had a ridiculously high fever yesterday, but it’s not like I could cancel.  So it was a bittersweet day, since I love working, but I couldn’t bear to leave my sick Baby Girl at home. *On a side note, her fever broke in the wee small hours last night and she’s doing better.  Still sick, but better*

This dress was a purchase from Bershka in Spain.  I have to say I love that store.  It’s so affordable, but really fun and trendy.  Stradivarius, and Bershka were my favorite stores to shop at in Europe.  I went into everyone that I saw.  Husband got really sick of it, but he was a good sport and let me do my thing.  Thanks Honey!

Trash, stash, or save?  Save!!

P.S.  The shots were taken on the GO train from and sorry they’re not better, but I did the best I could under the circumstances.

Dress 57: Yay!

I can’t get a shot without Drake in it.

Sweater – Esprit; Dress – Smart Set; Tights – Hue; Shoes – Town Shoes; Necklace – swap.

Yay, I’m back!  I know I said that before, but I think this time it’s true.  My stomach flu *the worst I’ve had ever* is finally over.  It lasted over a week and left me completely weakened.  The only thing that kept a smile on my face throughout the whole ordeal was running Emily Blunt’s line from “Devil Wears Prada” in me head over and over, “I’m one stomach flu away from my goal weight.”  Not that I’m dieting, I just think it’s a funny line.  But now it’s over and I’m famished!!!  Famished, I tell you.

And I’m wearing pretty dresses again.  Double Yay!

How was your weekend?

Random Sundays: Truly Random But Lots Of Fun!

So today really is a bunch of randoms!  Let’s get to it shall we?

Here’s my outfit today…at least part of the day since I’m still not feeling up to scrap.  Sweater – H&M; Shirt – clothing swap; Necklace – F21; Jeans – Guess

Drake the Dog thinks he absolutely needs to be in every shot!

Close-up of my necklace.
Remember how I said I hosted a clothing swap?  Olivia scored these shoes there.
And they look just smashing on her! *I really wanted to use the word ‘smashing’ – and with an english accent in my head*
And here is my masterpiece…dun duh duh dun!!!
My two kids, both looking out the window together.

Dress 56: Tushy!! Tushy!!

Sun is shining and I’m feeling better!

Sweater – Old Navy; Dress – purchased in London, England; Tights – gift from my Babcia; Shoes – Town Shoes

Guess what?  I kicked this food poisoning in its tushy!!  *I love saying that word…giggle, giggle* That’s right….I’m feeling better.  Still a little shaky on my feet but otherwise I’m great.  Thanks for your patience everyone.  I hope you enjoyed the photos I posted while I was ill.  And now that I’m better, I’ve got a dress for you all.

I thought I’d celebrate feeling better by wearing something bright red and cheery.  Can you believe that I bought this dress for 2 pounds in London??  That’s like, four dollars!!  It’s so cute and perfect for bumming around the house with Baby on a lazy Saturday.  How are you spending your day?  I’d love to hear.

Oh, and I have to say, I’m getting a touch antsy with this dress thing.  I have a pair of awesome wide leg flares that I’m dying to wear, so I may have to take a pause to put together a funky outfit featuring those pants.  Hope you’ll forgive me for cheating a little.  They’re just too cute to resist wearing, you know?

My Love Affair With Spain Began With Queen

Yes, I’m still under the weather.  So I’m sharing with you some more great shots!  This time?  Barcelona!   The city that started my love affair with Spain.

The first night we got there our lovely hostel hostess tried to tell us something important.  Through broken English and broken Spanish, we learned that we had to go to a certain place at a certain time to see something rare and spectacular.  What was it?  A fountain show set to music with all sorts of lights and colors.  And the kicker?  The finale was done to Queen’s rendition of “Barcelona.”  I live for Queen.

A shot of the main fountain.  It was flanked by about 12 smaller ones which also took part in the show.
Some awesome street performers.

You can’t forget the amazing architecture.

But my favorite shot from Barcelona was this one I nabbed in a tiny borough.  I love it because it just captures the feel of Barcelona for me – such great beauty everywhere it becomes common place and you become so relaxed amidst it.  Plus, the graffiti in the ‘no entry’ sign says “One Love.”  It doesn’t get better than that.

Interlaken, Switzerland

I’m incredibly sick today.  Couldn’t keep any food in me all night and all day, fever, chills – the works! It’s just this evening that I managed to eat something.  I’m slowly on the mend, but as you can imagine, I didn’t really get dressed today.   I spent the day in sweatpants, and I really wasn’t thinking about blogging at all – I really wasn’t thinking at all.  So no outfit today. Sorry.

But I thought I shared with you a few more shots from our Europe trip.  In case, you missed it, we spent about 3 months in Europe bumming around and seeing everything we could. One of Andrew’s favorite places was Interlaken, Switzerland.

Yes, the water was actually that color!
Glacier fed lake looks beautiful, but it’s not made for swimming!
The view from our hostel was to die for!
I got my very own Swiss Army knife in Switzerland!

Yodel, anyone?

Dress 55: S&M Facials Anyone?

Sweater – H&M; Dress – Coco & Tashi; Belt – thrifted; Leggings – F21

Close up of my lovely thrifted belt.

Last night I went to sleep in spring and woke up in full blown winter.  There is a snowstorm raging outside my window and I’m in a crabby mood.  My mood is not a direct result of the weather, it’s only exacerbated by this freak snowstorm.  I got some unpleasant news yesterday, and am all in flux as a result.  Suffice it to say that times, they are a changin’.

Therefore, I decided to use a certificate I’ve had stashed in my desk and went to get a facial.  It relaxed me, but I was weirded out a little.  The woman pulled my hair (intentionally as part of the “massage” and a little too roughly) and then smacked my face a few times (not too hard, but enough, you know?).  I was so confused!  I didn’t ask for an S&M facial!  Note to self, “Self, do not go back there!”

Needless to say that facial did not raise my spirits.

Hope you like the dress – I’m keeping it because it always makes me happy!

But right now I’m taking my own advice *if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all*
I’m signing off.
Good night.
See y’all tomorrow.
