When opportunity calls, answer. And when it offers you a chance to get the hell out of snowy Dodge – go.

So that’s what we did. One night I’m freezing my butt off going to the Actra awards, and within four hours I’m sleep deprived on a plane to Southern California. Not, a bad reason to be tired.

And after sleeping on the plane for another few hours, and a short uber ride, I was at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, just outside San Diego enjoying the sun and out of my thick parka.

Needless to say, I was a happy camper.
