Random Sundays: Spring Is Springing Near The Pond

We went for a little walk today in the park down by the pond.  It’s not beautiful there yet, but you can see spring starting to make itself known.

It was a family outing…

Husband is thrilled to shed his winter coat.

I love being able to wear my Mei Tai.  It’s so easy to just strap Baby on and go.
She loves to be cuddled in close.  Jacket – Jacob; Hat – Ruche; Glasses – F21; Jeans – Guess.

Baby’s still not feeling herself, but here fever broke and we can breathe a sigh of relief on that front.  So things are looking up.

Oh, and Drake the Dog got a bath not too long after this walk….he was decidedly displeased!

My Love Affair With Spain Began With Queen

Yes, I’m still under the weather.  So I’m sharing with you some more great shots!  This time?  Barcelona!   The city that started my love affair with Spain.

The first night we got there our lovely hostel hostess tried to tell us something important.  Through broken English and broken Spanish, we learned that we had to go to a certain place at a certain time to see something rare and spectacular.  What was it?  A fountain show set to music with all sorts of lights and colors.  And the kicker?  The finale was done to Queen’s rendition of “Barcelona.”  I live for Queen.

A shot of the main fountain.  It was flanked by about 12 smaller ones which also took part in the show.
Some awesome street performers.

You can’t forget the amazing architecture.

But my favorite shot from Barcelona was this one I nabbed in a tiny borough.  I love it because it just captures the feel of Barcelona for me – such great beauty everywhere it becomes common place and you become so relaxed amidst it.  Plus, the graffiti in the ‘no entry’ sign says “One Love.”  It doesn’t get better than that.

Interlaken, Switzerland

I’m incredibly sick today.  Couldn’t keep any food in me all night and all day, fever, chills – the works! It’s just this evening that I managed to eat something.  I’m slowly on the mend, but as you can imagine, I didn’t really get dressed today.   I spent the day in sweatpants, and I really wasn’t thinking about blogging at all – I really wasn’t thinking at all.  So no outfit today. Sorry.

But I thought I shared with you a few more shots from our Europe trip.  In case, you missed it, we spent about 3 months in Europe bumming around and seeing everything we could. One of Andrew’s favorite places was Interlaken, Switzerland.

Yes, the water was actually that color!
Glacier fed lake looks beautiful, but it’s not made for swimming!
The view from our hostel was to die for!
I got my very own Swiss Army knife in Switzerland!

Yodel, anyone?

Random Sundays: Baby and I

You know I don’t post pics of Baby on this blog, but I thought since her face isn’t in this shot I would show you all how big she’s getting.  She’s crawling and standing and cruising.  And, of course, she’s getting into everything!!  She’s such a curious little munchkin.

That’s her blankie there in the picture…and it gives her comfort when she sleeps and when she tumbles (which she does a lot since she insists on standing and trying all sorts of new things).

And I love to see her big grin and little bum bounce when she’s dancing along to music.  So cute!

Watching Community With A Pill

Sweater – made by my Babcia.

Husband has been away for a few days, but he comes back today.  Yay!  Baby has been a total pill at night…I think it’s the time change.  I think it’s wreaking havoc with her internal clock, which means she’s wreaking havoc on me.  Tonight, however, Husband will be here to help.  Maybe I can finally get some sleep.

I know this is random, but I’ve been watching Community.  I love that show!  Abed and Troy are the best!  It really brightens my day to laugh out loud.

True Story:  Yesterday I took a nap with Baby. It is the sweetest thing ever to sleep with your little one.  And when you think you’re not doing all you can to live up to your potential, you just have to look at them and know that if you do nothing else but love them, it will be enough.

Dangerously Addictive: Rose a la Mode

Photo from Rose a la Mode.

This lady is one of my favorite blogs to read.  She’s endearingly down-to-earth and witty.  It always makes me smile to read her posts and at the same time inspires my fashion without making me feel like it’s unreachable.  You know?

I got really giddy when I saw my blog listed in her “Sites I like” side bar.
I really did.
I did a little dance.
Then I squealed to Husband.
Things like this make me happy.

You should definitely check her out.
But be warned, you’ll be addicted.

Posthuman On The Couch

Olivia hanging out on the couch.

Yesterday I was on the air in the lovely outfit you can see in the previous post.  And I hung out with Olivia.  We always have a blast together being silly girls.  And yesterday was no exception.  But I’m writing right now to give you all something else to look at.  So you see I’m a Tv host, and an actor, and recently I’ve joined a fabulous web series called Posthuman.  I haven’t had anything for you to see since joining, and technically I still don’t (hint, hint), but if you go to the site you can watch two episodes.  You’ll notice me in them if you listen really well, and soon you’ll see me playing a wicked, awesome role!

Random Sundays: Snow, Shoots, and Spoiling.

Drake the Dog and Husband playing in the snow.

Drake the Dog loves fresh snow…it’s like his personal caffiene!

This morning I woke up to another winter wonderland.  Now, a few months ago (say December) this would be lovely.  But we’ve had soooo much winter that this morning it was….ugh, not again! But I’m cheered by the fact that it’s almost March and spring really is just around the corner…as are spring fashions!!

And guess what guys?  I got some clothes and a pair of shoes today.  Now, I know what you’re thinking, “You said you wouldn’t shop.”  But I didn’t.  I swear.  I went shopping with my Mama *she needed some retail therapy* and she treated me to a few things.  Husband smirked and called me spoiled, but you know what?  Sometimes our Mamas just gotta spoil us right?  Sometimes we need it a little.  And there’s nothing wrong with that.

On my way to the photoshoot.

This evening I went to a fun, guerilla style photoshoot.  We shot in the parking lot of a mall, turned some eyes, and hopefully got some phenomenal shots.  I’m excited about seeing the finished product, as the photographer, Joshua, is mucho talented.  Ill keep you posted and show you some shots as soon as I can!

Down In The Mud

Aren’t we goohgeous, dahling?

Sorry no dress for you today.  I was up in the night with Baby for about two hours in total.  Most I could manage todayw as a shower.  But I do have these lovelies to show you instead.  Husband and I did face masks and decided to take pics to show you all how absolutely fabulous we look with them on.

I’ve got a Kiehl’s mud mask and he’s got on a sensitive skin mask…my delicate flower.

Windy Wonderland

Drake the Dog was having a great time!
Jacket – don’t recall; Scarf – thrifted; Cardigan – H&M; Shirt – Smart Set; Jeans – Guess; Gloves – The Bay; Sunglasses – F21

Yesterday was a tease!  It was so warm outside and the sun had come out in all it’s glory.  True it was very windy but the temperature and sun more than made up for it.  Drake the Dog got to go to the park for the first time in months (it’s been too snowy and icy to tread there safely before).

If this look is familiar it’s because I had been wearing my maxi dress in the post below, but Husband suggested changing out of it because of the mud and snow that was likely still on the ground.  Good call on his part!

The sad thing is that once the night came things changed dramatically.  The wind was gusting at over 100km/hour and there was a severe wind warning in effect.  I could actually feel my little narrow house moving in response to some of the more powerful gusts.  It was more than a little scary!  But it kind of got me thinking in an apocalyptic movie kind of way.  You know, if the world ended how would I survive?  What would I do?  I watch a lot of sci-fi and post-apocalyptic movies, so sometimes I have these thoughts. *Nerd!*
