Backyard BBQ

A teaser of my outfit…the hat wasn’t a part of it, just my go-to sun protection.

We really took advantage of the day today!  I had a run in the morning, and later we spent most of the time either in the backyard, on a walk or *wait for it*  watching Baby in her baby pool *shots of that later*  We had a lovely BBQ dinner out in the yard, and Baby loved gobbling up her chicken, and veggies while occasionally tossing some over the side of her high chair to Drake the Dog.

And I promise I’ll show you my garden soon! I swear, I haven’t forgotten.

Husband posing for the camera.
Baby’s still not used to the grass.

Windstorms Of Amsterdam

My mind is all a flutter today.  It’s a bit of pathetic fallacy, what with the rain and wind outside, but it’s also a bit situational.  You see in the past while, I’ve been going to a string of auditions and getting this close to getting the role in each one.  And it’s starting to get me all in a whirlwind.  Husband said that I should be proud that I got so close, but I say, “Does anyone remember the guy who got this close to playing Obi Wan?  Or Han Solo? No.”  There are no runners up in acting.  Hence my brain is clouded and whirling.  It’s not a negative place, just a questioning and confusing place.

So I thought it fitting to share with you my shots from Amsterdam.  The graffiti *random, chaotic art*, the weather while I was there, and the thoughts going on in my head at the time were all very similar to what’s happening up in my head right now.

Hope you enjoy the pics!

Random Sundays: April (or May) Showers Bring Spring Flowers

I was going to show you my garden today, but alas it’s raining cats and dogs today.  That’s great for my veggies and stuff, but not so good for taking the camera out and snapping shots.  So for now, I thought I’d show you some fun and dandy things that have been making themselves known in my backyard.  *I snapped these a few days ago before the rain*

Betsey Johnson, Baby!

Baby loves my Betsey Johnson bag!  I knew she had good taste!

Random Sunday: Mother’s Day

The reason I’m so happy to be a Mom.

My first Mother’s Day!  Not only did I get a darling present, but I got the whole day to my myself.  Last night, I got a gift from Husband and Baby – a box of my vices:  chocolate, rum, tea, macaroons, and a gift certificate to Ruche.  And today I got to do a fabulously hard run, followed by a whole day spent bumming around town by myself.

I went and got a manicure, had girl time with my friend, browsed soooo many shops, and stopped by TCAF *a comic festival* to see my sister exhibiting her work.

A comic about what else but Freddie Mercury!

She had two comics of her own for display, and one collaboration with a group of people.  I’m so proud that she’s so ambitious to get her work out there.  I can’t wait to see what she does next!

I came home to a delicious salmon salad, white wine aaaand I think there’s a foot massage in store for me.

Can every day be Mother’s Day????

Hot Girl. Hot Car. *no I’m not talking about me*

Happy Mother’s Day!  I get the whole day to myself to enjoy and relax.  So, I’m gonna go do that and I’ll tell you all about the Vicious Kid music video shoot I did over here.  But you’re gonna have to wait until tomorrow.  Sorry! Mama’s gotta do, what Mama’s gotta do!

Check Me Out Over Here Today

Check me out over here and see lots of amazing shots from the Posthuman shoot!

This Is What The Day Looks Like

It’s one big thunderstorm.
But the sky looks amazing in the brief moments when it stops raining.

It’s raining and thunderstorming.  There’s a wind warning in effect for Toronto today.  That means Baby and I are stuck inside all day.  Will we go stir crazy?  No, but I think today is going to include more tv then I usually allow for the two of us.  C’est la vie.

Random Sundays: Part Two – A Hodge-Podge Of A Day

Baby was so cute playing and babbling in her crib first thing this morning!
Here it is, part two of this week’s Random Sunday post.

This morning my Mom and I went to get haircuts.  I have been going to Tanya for years.  Not only is she beautiful, cool, and super nice, but she’s an amazing hairstylist to boot!  *I realize I should’ve taken a better photo of the fabulous lady in question, but alas, I did not*  I started going to her many moons ago, and have followed her everywhere.  I kept telling my Mom to go see her for about a year, and when she finally went she fell in love and has not gone anywhere else since.  These days she works out of her home, located in Mississauga.  So if you’re in the GTA and need a great stylist, email me…I’ll give you her number.

My Mom getting her hair washed by Tanya.
And since I said I was getting a haircut, here it is:

Ta Da!

*you’re getting a sneak peek at the dress post I’ll be doing tomorrow*

Once home,  Husband and I headed out for his birthday lunch while my Mom and Babcia watched the little munchkin.   He had wanted to go for sushi, but it was closed; so we went to a ‘European’ restaurant, which was really just Polish food.  If I had wanted that, I would’ve stayed home.  But no, seriously, it was yummy.
Since he considers himself and honorary Pole by marriage, he had to get a Polish beer with lunch.
Then it was dessert at the local organic coffee roastery.
The day was topped off with playing with Baby, a walk, and now it’s time for some herbal tea.
I know, we’re wild!
And that’s our Sunday. Goodnight.  See y’all tomorrow!

Pajamas And Dirty Shirts…I’m Such A Fraud!

T-shirt – Reserved.

Dolman – F21; Jeans – Guess.

All right, confession time.  I did not get dressed today.

Well no, that’s a lie.  I did get dressed, technically speaking, just not very well.

Jeans and a top.  Oh all right…a dirty top.

Here me out!

I was alone with Baby all day.  It was her first day of being well.  It was my sixth day of not sleeping more than two hours at a time.  And we had nowhere to go.

She spent the day in her pajamas.

I almost spent the day in my pajamas.

I was going to go somewhere with her *which would meant getting dressed* but she decided to sleep right through from the time we would’ve left until about the time we would’ve been home.  So here are some older photos of a day when I did get dressed.

Sorry.  Tomorrow will be better.

I promise.
