It seems to be a thing right now, me taking photos while waiting at the bus stop. These were quickly snapped when I missed my connection and ducked into the side of a building to grab some pics. I can not get enough of loose lace tops lately. There’s something so relaxed and dreamy about them, but also really cool. Something feminine and sexy without being childish.
In case you were wondering *which I know you probably weren’t, I’m not that narcissistic* I was on my way to do this:

I got to take photos of some incredibly gorgeous people! Those shots will be posted on Photo By JoH soon.
Cooked Marrakesh Curried Stew tonight while listening to Faith Hill and then Bon Jovi. Hey, I’m not ashamed of the love I bear for Country Western and Rock. Not ashamed at all. Faith Hill and I cried while I chopped the onions and Baby Girl and I rocked out on the living room dance floor to Bon Jovi. Bet you didn’t know that Bon Jovi has a great twirling and bouncing beat.
Betcha didn’t know.
Seriously, sometimes I’m just plain dumb. I saw this outfit on Threadsence as part of their winter New Years feature. I fell in love. Since I already had pants exactly like that from a sale here in T.O. and plenty of gift card money, I decided to nab that top and play copy cat. *Not like it’s my first time*
Of course, I’ve been dying to rock the outfit and thought that a sunny January day was the perfect time. Once I left the house and it was too late to turn back, that’s when I suddenly put all the pieces together: Threadsence in based in California. This is a Californian winter outfit. Not at all an Ontario winter outfit.
The pants, while awesome and my new love, are not at all warm. The material gets so cold, that I might as well not be wearing pants at all. Really, it’s like wearing pantyhose in sub zero temperature. What the heck was I thinking?!? The day was spent walking on two icicle stilts.
So there you go. You will not be seeing these pants again until mid-spring… which is like a Californian winter.
Everything old is new again, or more specifically, nothing gets old in my closet. I’ve had all these items for years. Except the tights. They’re about six months old and $5 at F21. I love recombining older things in new ways. Really I would say that’s the secret behind real style: being able to constantly create unique looks with existing items.
Now yes, sometimes you’ll hit on a combo you really like, and by all means repeat that. And yes, there is a finite number of combinations that look good together, but then you work within that *rather large* finite number of combinations. All I’m saying is that style comes from the ability to combine and create within the given set of materials.
Of course, that’s not to say I have style. I just have an idea of what style is.
It’s Fall and the shops I frequent all come out with new LookBooks around this time of year. I see them and want everything. Of course I can’t have it! There’s things like bills, mortgages, etc. etc. But more than that, I like to stop and think about whether I can recreate that look with what I already have in my closet.
So, when Threadsence came out with their new LookBook I did just that. I recreated this look from the things in my closet. Thank you for the inspiration!
I take no credit for this outfit other than the fact that, at some point, I purchased all these items.
As one reader said, I really am a poster child for some of these companies.
