Lots Of Things Start Early…Like My Day

Cardi – Costa Blanca; Top – Urbanog.com; Jeans – Gap; Boots – Feet First.

Happy Monday beautiful people!  I’m working off of several cups of tea since Baby is still keeping us up at all hours of the night.  I really don’t know what’s up.  Maybe teething, maybe not.  I really can’t tell.  I am, however, proud to say that we’ve made the transition to one nap a day very easily and very smoothly.

And yet again, I didn’t want to wash my hair so I stuck it up in this french braid thing-y.  It’s what I do.  What do you do when you don’t want to wash/do your hair?  Leave a comments and share.  Thanks!

True Story:
I knew I would have a fashionista on my hands…I just didn’t think it would start this early!

I’m Excited About My Haircut!

Cardi – Old Navy; Belt – H&M; Dress – Ruche; Tights – Hue; Shoes – Payless; Scarf – street stand.

I got a haircut!  I also did some voice over work *read about that here*But back to the haircut.  I’m excited about this and I’ll tell you why.  Remember when I chopped off allllll of my hair? As I’m sure you know, bobs have a different angle of cut then other, longer styles.  They’re longer at the front and shorter in the back, while regular haircuts do the opposite – longer at the back and shorter at the front.  Anyway, since then I’ve been growing it back out again.  And my hairdresser has been slowly and carefully changing back the angel so as not to give me a dramatic cut that would dishearten how much I’ve grown it out.  Weellll, after this last appointment she said that it’s now at the right angle, and no longer going to look wonky…at least not from the cut – the styling is all up to me.   So that’s why I’m so happy.  ‘Cause my hair is now all back to the way it should…only shorter.  But that takes time.  Unless someone can donate hair extensions.

Anyone? Bueller?  Bueller?

Is It Too Cute?

Cardi – BCBG Maxazria (thrifted); Belt – AE; Dress – Ruche; Socks – The Bay; Shoes – Payless.

I know it’s a little late posting, but here’s my date night outfit.  I love this little Ruche dress and I’m liking how the colors will so easily transition into Fall.  Plus, this is my first time wearing socks high socks with ballerinas.  I’m not one hundred percent sure how I feel about it.  It’s very cute, and though too cute for it to become a staple in my wardrobe, I think it’s going to appear once in a while.  What do you think?  Too cute?  Do you wear this combo?  How do you wear it?  I’m wondering the possibilities.

Productivity, Without Coffee

Tank – Jacob; Cardi – Smart Set; Shorts & Belt – AE; Boots – somewhere in NYC.

So far today I’ve cooked 2 bags of carrots, 2 butternut squashes, 15 zucchinis, a bag of pears, and a bag of parsnips.  And I’ve managed to squeeze in a 25 minute run.  Just call me ‘Miss Productivity’!

And on no caffeine!

Yup, I’m cooking and freezing and prepping Baby’s food.  She’s mostly eating what we eat, but occasionally we need to supplement her a little with purees.  You see, she likes to feed herself, but since she’s still pretty uncoordinated, not that much foods get in her.  And meals usually take about an hour.  Sometimes she gets really frustrated with the whole process too, so it’s just better to feed her purees in between the mouthfuls she gets in herself.  That way her little dumpling feet stay looking dumpling!

*I’m waiting for the inevitable crash in energy*

A Room With A Few…Ladies

Cardi – F21; Dress – Ruche; Belt – AE; Socks – MacGregor; Boots – Town Shoes.

This dress from Ruche is perhaps one of my favorite in my entire closet, and that’s saying alot considering how many I own.  But I love how easy it is to throw on and how feminine it makes me feel.   Plus, it’s wonderful because there’s lots of breathing room so on those days when you don’t feel up to scruff it’s very forgiving.  And the little tulips and the ruffles make me feel pretty!

I tried a Tai Chi class today *which I’ll be blogging about tomorrow* and afterwards headed over to a girlfriends house for a ladies tea party.

Christine (left), and Victoria (right) our wonderful hostess.

My small plate of treats and cup of tea with the tray in the background.

I had a wonderful time snacking on delicious homemade goodies – gluten and sugar free too!  But I have to say the very best part was hanging out with the wonderful ladies who came.  It’s amazing to be in a roomful of such talented, smart, witty and caring ladies.  What a blessing!

Mother Nature You Have a Twisted Sense of Humour

Dress & Cardi – Ruche; Belt – F21; Boots – somewhere in NYC.

Guess what??  It’s cold and rainy here…again.  What are you gonna do right?  The weather was not going to stop me from wearing a pretty dress.  But I didn’t last long in it, so I’m going to have to wear this again sometime.  Maybe when my legs aren’t covered in goosebumps.

Regardless, it’s a lazy day.  I watched a movie while Baby played on the floor in front of me.  Now she’s sleeping and I’m going to watch Big Bang Theory season 4.  *Sheldon and I are soulmates*

And I’m trying to convince Husband to order take out for dinner.  It feels like a take-out kind of day.

Now if only I could decide: pizza or chinese???

Busy, Busy Girl

My Ruche booties!

This is what the table in front of me looks like.  Good thing you guys can’t see it on air!

Cardi &Boots – Ruche; Shirt – Walmart; Shorts – AE; Ring – Spotted Moth.
*pardon the pics.  All I had was my old point and shoot and it was dark*

Monday was day one on the set of another music video that I did (you can read about that here).  And it was another hot and humid day.  To top it all off, I had to be up bright and early, and be prepared to go right from the music video set to Movieola to host a live on-air evening shift.  So, I decided to go for cute but comfortable.  Shorts and a sweet cardigan *it’s cold under the AC in the studio* and the Ruche booties are so wonderfully comfy.  They’re slowly becoming a go-to item for set days.

Tidbit:  I liked these boots so much I recommended them to my mom and she ordered a pair!

Victoria Day!

Cardi – H&M; Shirt – Esprit; Belt – Hadley Pollet; Jeans – Gap; Shoes – Etienne Aigner; Socks – Calvin Klein.
I wore this yesterday to the birthday party yesterday. It’s been very weird weather: very humid, rainy and alternating between hot and cold.
Makes it really hard to style an outfit.
I gave Drake the Dog a haircut, but since I didn’t get a chance to finish it he looks a little silly.  But still really cute.

Dress 83: Chocolate, Shopping, Oh My!

Jacket – Old Navy; Sweater – thrifted; Belt – thrifted; Dress – Ruche.

First off, did you check me out here?  You should; I look hawt, if I do say so myself!

Secondly, Baby and I were restless today, or maybe it was just me, so we headed out for a walk around stores and cafes and people.  It was wonderful!  The sunshine was so warm and I got a triple chocolate cookie!

Baby got a rice cracker.

Yeah well, she has plenty of time to make bad eating choices.  I’m not going to do it for her.

P.S.  I failed miserably today…I bought something…I know.  But at least I’m honest.   That counts for something right?  No?  Oh stop shaking your heads.  You wouldn’t be able to resist either.

I’ll show you when it gets here.

Dress 82: Things That Make You Feel Pretty.

I love the movement of the dress.
Cardi – Smart Set; Dress – Ruche; Tights – Hue; Loafers – AE.

Today I went to Walmart to get diapers *yes, I know I lead a tres glamorous life – hush you!*  and the girl at the check-out counter told me how much she liked my style.  It made me feel very pretty.

Risking ‘too much information’, I’m going to tell you something.  I miss wearing pretty bras!  They have been packed away for about a year and a half, and I want them to come back to me.  It’s been maternity and nursing bras for such a long time, but the good news is that Baby is weaning herself.  That means the bras are about to make a come back!

True Story:  I was playing fetch with Drake the Dog using his favorite toy – squirrel.  It fell into the empty, shallow baby bath. He wouldn’t dare reach in with his muzzle to get it.  He just stood outside it and whined looking at his squirrel.  He hates baths that much. Baby reached in and took it out, and he immediately stole it from her and ran away.  Drake, you’re such a wimp and bully at the same time!
