I love it when my mom cleans out her closet. She comes down with garbage bags full of great clothes. It’s like a fun shopping spree for free! The best kind, of course. Though we may not be the same size, I always find some fun tops, sweaters, and even the occasional dress. *like the one above*
That’s something to consider when swapping, you don’t have to be the same size. My mom is shorter and she’s got a little more junk in the trunk. So I don’t usually get pants because it’s hard to lengthen pants and get the perfect fit, but because she likes her clothes more fitted, and I like a lot of things looser and more flowy I still end up with a great haul. Something to think about when debating a clothes swap with your friends too – you don’t all have to be the same size.
Now the issue is how to get a bigger closet.

January 21, 2013That dress looks amazing on you – what a great hand-me-down. Totally agree with the size thing when it comes to swapping clothes; it's fun to see how other people make an item work for them.

January 21, 2013How fun! I've never swapped clothes with my mom, but my sisters and I used to swap clothes all the time when we still all lived under the same roof. Now we're spread out and states apart, so no more free shopping sprees for me. :-

January 21, 2013my favorite part about being a little less on the fluffy side, was being able to 'shop' my sister's closet. she has the cutest clothes that i could borrow anytime!
would love to receive a 'free' shopping spree once in a while!

January 21, 2013Right on! The past couple of times I've been up to visit my parents, I've come home with an item or two from my mom's closet. Mom's rounder than I am, but since she's a packrat that can't bear to get rid of things… there's often stuff I end up finding that's in my current size or is something that I'd want a looser fit on anyway. I snagged this sweet little sundress last time I was up that she had sewed herself probably sometime in the 70s.

January 21, 2013I wish my friends and I were closer to the same size but my only two girl friends are 5-10 sizes apart. Not much swapping we can do. But I love the idea, also a very cute outfit!

January 22, 2013hi Joanna! Oh, my daughters (esp my youngest – LL's mom) are swapping clothes all the time. Not just clothes but accessories, too. We have more similar tastes and when she compliments me on my clothes I KNOW they are cute, then.
I love this dress and I love how it looks on you. And …I am so glad you loved the Audrey Hepburn compliment. YAY! I just voted. 😀

January 22, 2013That's so cool that you can clothes swap with your mom. Unfortunately, I would only be able to get loads of weird colored suits from Dress Barn from my mom…haha. Love that hat. Too cute!
