Random Sundays: Garden Party!

Chives and Bok Choy.

Tomatoes!

Parsley.

?????

So I promised to show you my garden last week and have been very negligent in fulfilling my promise.  But finally here it is!  I’m so excited!  It’s the first time I’m attempting to grow anything.  If I can manage it, it’ll be the first plants that I have manged not to kill.  I’m kind of a black thumb.  No, seriously.

On another fun note, we got Baby a little wading pool and so far the verdict is still out on whether she actually likes it.  I’m sure once it gets sweltering hot she’ll love it!

Today was one of her boyfriend’s birthday parties.  And let me tell you it was pretty cool to see the kids playing alongside one another.  They don’t really plat with each other yet; they kind of crawl over and around one another right now, but it’s still pretty cute.

Fun note, I met one lady who reads my blog *Hi Stephanie! You looked great,  by the way* and it made me all embarrassed.  It’s weird to meet someone who has read about me, but that I haven’t met in real life.  Cool, but weird.  It made me feel all bashful…like my underwear was showing *which you never know, it might have been*

One Cute Handful

Seriously, Baby’s into everything!  My Mama and Babcia said to me that she’s not going to be a quiet, calm child sitting in the corner with her book or crayons, she’s going to be active and mischievous.
And a handful.
They’re right.
*sigh*

Out to cause trouble with the recycling, or Drake the Dog’s food.

That used to be my bookmark….no more.

Windstorms Of Amsterdam

My mind is all a flutter today.  It’s a bit of pathetic fallacy, what with the rain and wind outside, but it’s also a bit situational.  You see in the past while, I’ve been going to a string of auditions and getting this close to getting the role in each one.  And it’s starting to get me all in a whirlwind.  Husband said that I should be proud that I got so close, but I say, “Does anyone remember the guy who got this close to playing Obi Wan?  Or Han Solo? No.”  There are no runners up in acting.  Hence my brain is clouded and whirling.  It’s not a negative place, just a questioning and confusing place.

So I thought it fitting to share with you my shots from Amsterdam.  The graffiti *random, chaotic art*, the weather while I was there, and the thoughts going on in my head at the time were all very similar to what’s happening up in my head right now.

Hope you enjoy the pics!

Random Sundays: April (or May) Showers Bring Spring Flowers

I was going to show you my garden today, but alas it’s raining cats and dogs today.  That’s great for my veggies and stuff, but not so good for taking the camera out and snapping shots.  So for now, I thought I’d show you some fun and dandy things that have been making themselves known in my backyard.  *I snapped these a few days ago before the rain*

I haven’t showered, I haven’t eaten…I’m pooped!

Shirt – swapped; Scarf – thrifted; Jacket – Spotted Moth; Jeans – Guess.

Baby’s tooth finally breach the surface, but last night was the climax and boy did she give us a run for our money.   I’m so tired, the most I had the energy for was a cup of tea and a protein shake.  And me not eating is a huge deal!

In terms of outfit, all I could manage was to actually be dressed *as opposed to in my pajamas* as we headed out the door for a walk.  I know it’s not very uninspired, but not everyday can be glorious.

However, I must say I love this jacket from Spotted Moth.  It’s faux-fur lining is so very warm and comforting especially on a day like today where you’re tired and it’s still quite chilly.  The only down side to the piece is that it has no closure at the front.  That’s an issues in the fall with the cold wind. But I’m just going to add two hooks or buttons to make the jacket stay closed.  And for 50% off, this really is a steal!

Our outdoor adventure took us in and around the pond in the park.

I love the mural on the side of the public building in the park.

Weeds or flowers?

One little, lone cloud in the sky.  Precious thing!

I love those trees.  Like giants in the playground.
Tomorrow I’m on set for the web series I’m working on.
I’ll be blogging about that over here!

This Is What The Day Looks Like

It’s one big thunderstorm.
But the sky looks amazing in the brief moments when it stops raining.

It’s raining and thunderstorming.  There’s a wind warning in effect for Toronto today.  That means Baby and I are stuck inside all day.  Will we go stir crazy?  No, but I think today is going to include more tv then I usually allow for the two of us.  C’est la vie.

Random Sundays: Seedlings In The Garden

Seedlings!

I spent some time at my Mom’s this weekend and she’s right on track with her garden.  I’m so getting her to help me with mine, and trust me, I need the help!

Meanwhile, the weather was so nice we all had to take advantage of it.   Drake the Dog had a great time running around the huge backyard and wrestling with Luke, as you can tell.

Baby didn’t know what to make of the grass.  She just sat there and grimaced every time her hand touched it.

Random Sundays: Bi-polar Sunshine

An alleyway in Venice.

I love the colors and the crooked tower.

Me waiting with all our luggage loaded off the ship.

Since today it’s been sunny and then snowy my mind has been wandering to more beautiful sights then the bi-polar weather here in Toronto.  I find myself thinking about Venice.  And I found my favorite shots of Venice to be things like alleyways and a buliding rather than the traditional canal with gondola because everyone has those shots and everyone has seen those shots.   I appreciated Venice, and I loved the windy streets from a military aspect (because well, I am a martial artist), but I didn’t fall in love with Venice as others have.  Don’t get me wrong, if someone offered me a trip there I wouldn’t refuse! It just wouldn’t be my first choice of anywhere in the world.

It does bring a smile to my face though.

You know what else brings a smile to my face?  This little ray of sunshine riiiight here.

It’s Rainy And My Mind Wanders To Scotland

It’s raining today.  It’s not fun.  In the night the wind howled and shook everything so much that we checked online in the middle of the night to see whether there was a tornado warning.  Husband got scared awake a few times in the night, we both did.  So this miserable weather got me thinking of when we were in Scotland.  It rained the enitre time.  Yes, I know that’s the climate, but I thought we’d get at least one day of good weather.

Edinburgh castle is just amazing!

We were in Edinburgh during their arts festival.
Gothinc Cathedral in Glasgow.  Cathedral design and architecture is stunning!

Inside the cathedral.

Stained glass windows.  If I were designing a house I think I’d have one gorgeous stained glass window somewhere.

We both loved Scotland despite the weather, but Husband was decidedly not happy about how much I enjoyed the wonderful red-haired men with fabulous scottish accents!

Random Sundays: Part Two – A Hodge-Podge Of A Day

Baby was so cute playing and babbling in her crib first thing this morning!
Here it is, part two of this week’s Random Sunday post.

This morning my Mom and I went to get haircuts.  I have been going to Tanya for years.  Not only is she beautiful, cool, and super nice, but she’s an amazing hairstylist to boot!  *I realize I should’ve taken a better photo of the fabulous lady in question, but alas, I did not*  I started going to her many moons ago, and have followed her everywhere.  I kept telling my Mom to go see her for about a year, and when she finally went she fell in love and has not gone anywhere else since.  These days she works out of her home, located in Mississauga.  So if you’re in the GTA and need a great stylist, email me…I’ll give you her number.

My Mom getting her hair washed by Tanya.
And since I said I was getting a haircut, here it is:

Ta Da!

*you’re getting a sneak peek at the dress post I’ll be doing tomorrow*

Once home,  Husband and I headed out for his birthday lunch while my Mom and Babcia watched the little munchkin.   He had wanted to go for sushi, but it was closed; so we went to a ‘European’ restaurant, which was really just Polish food.  If I had wanted that, I would’ve stayed home.  But no, seriously, it was yummy.
Since he considers himself and honorary Pole by marriage, he had to get a Polish beer with lunch.
Then it was dessert at the local organic coffee roastery.
The day was topped off with playing with Baby, a walk, and now it’s time for some herbal tea.
I know, we’re wild!
And that’s our Sunday. Goodnight.  See y’all tomorrow!
