Nothing’s Off The Table

Sweater – Smart Set  //  Dress – BB Dakota  //  Boots – Feet First
Tights – Hue  //  Necklace – Ruche  //  Belt – F21
I’m not one of those people that rotates their clothes based on the season.  Mostly, because I never think anything is completely off the table.  That’s why, in the middle of a hail storm in December I’ll wear a light sundress.  Of course, I’ll pair it with tights, boots, and a sweater.  I’m not that crazy after all. *though some might beg to differ* But I don’t believe in putting away your favorite dress just because it’s a winter/summer piece.  Anything can be worn at any time in my book.
Guess that’s why I’m not a fashion editor.
True Story:
Baby Girl, like most toddlers loves to have her boo boos kissed.  Especially the imaginary ones.
Well, I hit my knee the other day.  So I turn to her and say, “Mommy has a boo boo.  Kiss it better?” Her response, “No, mommy do it!”
Apparently once you’re an adult you have to pick yourself up and  kiss your own boo boos.
She’s wise beyond her years, I tell ya.

Moments We Love

Dress – Moon Collection  //  Vest & Tights – F21  //  Boots – Feet First
 Necklace – ModCloth  //  Earrings – I don’t remember, sorry!
There are moments like when she has pooped all over and I’m trying to change her while she’s wriggling.  Through twists and turns I somehow get a new diaper on, but the cost is my patience, my sanity, and my hygiene as I look down and see poop on my hand.  *sigh*
Then there are moments when she wakes up and wants to be cuddled in my arms.  She snuggles in and touches my face as I close my eyes, “No sleep mommy.”  Instead, she looks at me deeply.
We sit there for moments on end just looking into each others eyes.

Best love story ever.

Bend But Not Break

Sweater – Pink Martini  //  Skirt – Ark&Co  // Boots – Feet First  //  Tights – Hue
Bracelets & Necklace – F21

Though breezy, flowy skirts and pastels are reminiscent of Spring and the bright sunshine of Summer, I can’t seem to hide them away in a dark corner of my closet when the temperatures drop.  The soft pale material feels so vulnerable in the bitter cold wind, but it does not break, so perhaps there’s a hidden strength in it somewhere.
Or maybe I just like to wax poetic about something that is really a simple sartorial choice.
It’s probably that.
Yes, definitely.

An Appropriate Time To Take Your Shoes Off

Jacket – Gap  //  Sweater – Mexx  //  Dress – Love Audrey *get one in Coral from Threadsence
Tights – F21  //  Scarves – street stand  //  Boots – Locale  //  Bag – Ruche
Give me a great dress, a fabulous jacket, and a large bag and I can rule the world.  Not literally of course, but somehow this is the perfect trifecta of sartorial brilliance to make me feel confident with who I am.

This is also the outfit I wore to a recent audition where in the middle of it I took off my boot.  To be fair, it was relevant and part of the scene, but I don’t think they expected me to do it.  Nor to continue the rest of the scene waving my boot around.

I got excellent feedback from that audition and they were “impressed with me.”  That seals it, I’m taking off my boot at every audition from now on.

DIY Boots

Jacket – Spotted Moth *old*  //  Shirt – Esprit  //  Hat – ??  //  Dress, Tights, Belt, Socks, & Pink Ring – F21  //  Boots – Ruche altered with my own belts and additions  //  Ring – Threadsence  //  Necklace – bought in Spain.
I love new shoes, but the fact is that shoes can cost a lot.  So to change up my shoes and make things look new, I decided to see what would happen if I took some belts and fabric that were lying around and changed my regular ankle boots into something new.  Something a little different.
Andrew makes fun of these, but I love the fact that they’re a little different.
True Story:
Baby Girl opens my nail polish drawer a week ago, and decides to move every single bottle.
I’m getting dressed and just happy for the fact that she’s busy and leaving me in peace.
So she moves all approximately twenty bottles into Andrew’s night stand.
Apparently she’s decided that’s where they belong.
A week later, they’re still there.
I guess he agrees.

Making Grace Kelly Proud

Scarf – Urban Outfitters  //  Shirt – Beatrice Holloway from Lulus  //  Jeans – Gap  //  Boots – Chelsea Crew from Threadsence  //  Zebra Necklace – Lustre from Montreal

In photos I can sometimes appear chic and perhaps stylish and put together.  Sometimes I even fancy myself to actually be that.  But really, I’m the girl who rushes out of the bathroom because she’s late for the acting class, slams her finger in the door as is shuts, and plunks her butt down ungracefully on the couch, and then realizes that her fly is undone.

Yup.  Grace Kelly would be proud.

I Won’t Start A Fight But I Will Finish One

Top – Campus Crew  //  Jeans – Gap  //  Boots – Threadsence  //  Zebra – Lustre in Montreal  //  Scarf – Trove in Toronto

Leaving the checkout, I notice the lady in the next aisle looking at Baby Girl snacking on a single serving bag of chips shaking her head.  She then looks at me with a dirty look.  Totally ticks me off when women judge each other’s ability to mother.  Lady, what do you know?

Yes, maybe once a month Baby Girl gets a single serving of chips all to herself.  There is nothing wrong with that.  And perhaps, you should compare our shopping carts before you shake your head at me.

Mine:  Kale, beets, cucmber, avocado, mixed nuts, bananas, almond milk, rice ice cream, apples, lemons, fresh chicken breasts, drumsticks, bag of basmati rice, cashew butter, eggs.

Hers:  McCain frozen meal, Frozen pizza, white wonder bread, big hunk of cheese, bag of cookies, sandwich meat, some frozen cooked meat, ketchup, lettuce, tomatoe.

I wasn’t judging you before *because I just don’t care*  but I certainly am now.

You know what they say about people who live in glass houses right?
Don’t be throwin’ no s@#t around!

Homecoming

 Jacket – Gap  //  Dress – ModCloth *sold out*  // Tights & Necklace – F21  // Boots – Feet First  // Ring – Threadsence

Playing with different trends and styles.  Experimenting with different perceptions of self and different sides of various aesthetics.  These are the things I love about fashion.

But there’s also something serenely and peacefully perfect about a homecoming.  A homecoming to that outfit that best defines you. An outfit that really reflects to the world who you are at your core.  The outfit that feels just like the worn in jeans, a cup of hot chocolate, or that home cooked meal your mama made.

A floral dress, jean jacket and boots.  That’s my fashion chicken soup.  It just doesn’t get any better.

This is me world.

True Story:
Baby Girl got a firetruck and fireman action figure as a Thanksgiving Day present from my Mom.
I’m not talking about how she’s been obsessed with it ever since.
I am talking about how she took the fireman figure and insisted on changing his diaper.
The figurine is maybe 5 inches tall.
So he went from pooping his pants in a fire to being smothered in a diaper???
Poor guy can’t catch a break.

Don’t Hate The Zebra

Dress – Threadsence

Belt – F21
Shoes – Ruche
Necklace – Lustre boutique in Montreal
I’m clearly obsessed with this new necklace of mine.  I’ve already worn it three times already*here and here* and I can’t see myself getting sick of it anytime soon.  So I hope you don’t hate it and don’t get sick of it either.
On another matter, I can’t seem to get my butt into the salon for a cut.  This mop of mine needs some styling but for some reason I just keep delaying it and wondering if one day I won’t wake up with magically cut hair.  That happens, right?
