Some Kind Of Wonderful

Blazer – UO
Top – Ruche
Pants – Jacob
Shoes – Payless

There’s nothing I haven’t told Andrew about.  No deed, no word, no act.  Whether good or bad, he knows it all.  Whether he wants to or not. And still he’s married to me.  That’s some kind of wonderful.

Ok, that’s a lie.
I didn’t tell him about the $9 shirt I bought on sale at H&M last week.

Feminine And Strong

Top – Ruche
Blazer – F21
Jeans – Gap
Boots – Feet First
Necklace – c/o Scarlet Samples

I love that this blazer has such wonderful feminine lace detail.  It allows me to be classy and professional without relinquishing my frilly, feminine side.  It makes me think of how I want to be a woman: fully embracing my femininity while still being confident and strong.   It’s so wonderful when fashion can influence our attitude and put a boost in our self-assurance.
And on a side note, I’m so extremely pleased with this necklace I received a few weeks ago.  It works with so many outfits and has such an easy, natural beauty about it.  But here’s the best part, they sent me two!  One for me, and one for one of my lucky readers…yup, I’ve got a giveaway coming up real soon!

True Story:
Took Baby for a walk with Drake the Dog.
Drake squatted to poo.
Baby looked at him, squatted and grunted pretending to poo.
Yeah, I think I’m still laughing.

Slightly Altered

Is it a top, or a dress? It’s a mystery!  No, really it’s not.  Read on.

I really like this dress, but it’s actually really short on me.  Doesn’t look it in the picture because I’m not moving at all. But it’s so short, that now that I’m a little older I shouldn’t be wearing it.  But I really do love the pattern and cut.  So rather than give it away or stash it, I decided to alter it.

*side note: best outfit shots ever!  check out Baby!*

Top – F21 *altered*; Blazer – Esprit; Belt – AE; Jeans – Guess; Shoes – Payless.

Made it into a shirt!  I’m not a very handy woman.  But I do have some minor sewing skills.  I don’t however, own a sewing machine.  So I asked my lovely Mama and she was more than willing to hem this little number for me.

Now it’s a really cute top!

P.S.  Sorry no Tuesday In Review today.  I promise I’ll get back on track next week!

Who Will You Be?

Scarf – street stand; Jacket – H&M; Top – Ruche; Jeans – Gap; Boots – Feet First; Necklace – from Mom.

This morning I headed out to TA an acting class in Toronto.  I’m helping out with a kids class, but it’s nevertheless a great opportunity to see some young talent and get to know exactly what I’m doing.  I’m hoping that next time around I’ll have an adult class to TA so that I can see the grown-ups in action.  But right now the kids are great and it’s giving me some experience in running the equipment.

Watching these guys do their stuff makes me wonder what kind of girl my little one will become.  Will she be the shy one in class?  Or the loud and talkative one?  I wonder.  From what I can tell so far, she’ll be the squirmy one…and the troublemaker.

When ‘Naked’ Or ‘Bathrobe’ Won’t Do

Blazer – Ezra; Scarf – Old Navy; Jeans – Guess; Shirt – Lucca Couture; Shoes – Payless.

Okay, so sometimes I don’t actually want to get dressed.  Not that I want to walk around naked, more that I don’t want to actually think about what I’m wearing.  I was having one of those days, but I had no choice as I had to go to work…on tv…in front of the nation…so I had no choice.  Even if I don’t feel like getting dressed.  I just start one thing at a time and build up from there. And thank goodness my dress code is super casual though because here’s how my brain works:

I don’t want to get dressed. I don’t want a cute outfit or dress.  I want to stay in my bathrobe.  But I can’t.  Okay, I’ll wear jeans.  And what else?   I want to be cozy and covered up today.  Nerdy t-shirt.  No.  Plain gray t-shirt  because it’s soooooft.  I want a cozy scarf.  Can I deal with some color?  Maaaaaybe.  Oh bright orange!  Okay that works.  Maybe I should try to look good. Meh.  Ruched sleeve blazer…in black.  Nice!  Easy. No fuss, no muss. *looks down* Crap!  No shoes.  Okaay.  Comfy broken in ballerina flats.  Done.

p.s. Check out some pics from the Posthuman shoot here.  Oh, and I read a great article over here on Bethany’s blog.

Two very tired parents.  One veeeery stinky diaper.
No one wants to change it.

Parenthood. It doesn’t make sense.
