When you set up your tripod and take off your jacket to take outfit pictures with your baby in the stroller next to you enough times, eventually she wants to get in on the action. So as I set up my tripod, and took my place, she insisted on taking her hood off and posing right next to me for the camera. Then she ran back and forth to double check on the photos. You know, to make sure we had the shot. I’m telling you, it’s getting real hard to not show her face here when she stands right beside me smiling into the lens.
Cooked Marrakesh Curried Stew tonight while listening to Faith Hill and then Bon Jovi. Hey, I’m not ashamed of the love I bear for Country Western and Rock. Not ashamed at all. Faith Hill and I cried while I chopped the onions and Baby Girl and I rocked out on the living room dance floor to Bon Jovi. Bet you didn’t know that Bon Jovi has a great twirling and bouncing beat.
Betcha didn’t know.
I know, it’s never happened* before but it’s happening now. I’m cooking. Actually, I’ve been motivated to move to a more vegetarian diet. No, we’re not going completely vegetarian or vegan. The goal is to just decreased our general meat intake and increase the amount of vegetarian dishes we create. It’s a health and environmental move. We’ve just been more educated on the environmental impact of the livestock industry. That coupled with our desire for a more clean diet has moved me to cook.
It only took health, environment, and tons and tons of animal feces to do it.
*That’s a lie. I have been known to cook before in my life though I deny, deny to tell you when and where and anyone who can testify against me is either dead or has the fear of me in them.
I was all comfy and cozy when I headed out to a recent clothing swap. I love clothing swaps. They’re so fun and it’s great to see everyone getting excited about clothes that you thought had come to the end of their life span. It’s great because it’s so inspiring and refreshing in this day of “Just buy a new one.” Also, I wanted to be really comfy and wear leggings so that I can easily throw things off and on. I highly recommend organizing a swap with your friends.
Do you know why I have a slight grimace in these pictures? Because it’s freezing! It was so cold I almost got frostbite in the five minutes it took to take these pictures. I had to warm up my fingers to get the feeling back enough to put my camera away. Why do I say this? I say this to reiterate why I hate this time of year.
Oh and to add insult to injury our kettle broke. So I’m boiling water for my tea in a pot over the stove. In a pot people.
Coat – UO // Scarf – Kensie // Sweater – made by my Babcia // Jeans – Gap // Boots – Le Petite PiedsGeez! Seriously, it has not stopped pouring lately, except when it’s decided to snowstorm. It stops raining for that. Yup. Loads of fun here, I tell you. I’ve gotten to that point. You know the one, where it’s been cold for so long, and you’ve been layering for so long, that you start to hate the clothes in your closet ’cause you’re just going to have to layer and layer and layer. *Side note: If you have no idea what I’m talking about then you live in a perpetually warm climate and I kind of hating you a little bit right now. Just a little bit* But yes, I’ve hit that moment ladies and gentlemen. I’ve hit that wall right smack with my forehead with the power of a resounding, “Thud!”
And it’s only February.
p.s. Wanna see me be sort of funny in a self-tape audition?
Sorry I’ve been a little MIA lately. It’s been busy with bookings, auditions, etc etc. Plus, it’s also been either pouring or snow storming which, well, does the exact opposite of motivating me to go out and take pictures with no coat on. But I’m back in full force tomorrow because really, what’s a little frostbite between friends?
Hopefully, some cute pics of my girl cookin’ and finally letting me put her hair in a ponytail will get you to forgive me. If only for 20 minutes.
