Hope everyone has recovered well from the New Years celebration. Looking forward, I’m already thinking about things I want to achieve, but not just tangible goals. I’m thinking about the changes I want to make inside, about the person I want to become by the end of 2017. There are some hard lessons learned this past year, and I want to make sure they aren’t just mistakes, but lessons.
I thought it was appropriate to wear this c/o eShakti red dress with this post because red has such an energetic vitality about it. Plus, since I customized it as their site allows, it feels like a bit of a metaphor – you know, customizing my year too. It’s a way to hit the ground running in 2017.
I want to learn that friends sometimes hurt you but that it’s not a reason to close yourself off. I want to learn to speak up for myself more, and care less what those don’t know me think of me. I want to learn to be there more for the people who have supported me in my dark times. And I want to become better at recognizing true actions in others and in myself. This could go on and on about the lessons to learn, but here’s the thing: I have an image of a woman standing at the beginning of 2018, and I’m going to try my hardest to get as close to that woman as possible.
Oh, and eat less junk food.
Ha. Let no one say I’ve lost my sense of humor.

January 2, 2017I love this. I, too, am trying to make inner changes more than outer. In fact, I just blogged about it. 2017 is going to be a year of kindness and understanding, I just feel it. Also, love the red!!!

January 2, 2017Good luck in 2017! I don’t usually set resolutions for myself, but the start of a new year is a great time to evaluate your priorities, and yours are really thoughtful.
Loving the red dress – eShakti really is fabulous! I love having the option to customize their dresses, it’s such a great option.

January 3, 2017Yeah, I’m not a resolution gal either. BUt like you said, it’s a great time to think about priorities – which is what matters I think regardless of when in the year you do it – change of seasons whatever.New years is just a great point and a chance to start fresh – we all like that.
And thanks. I wanted a simple classic red dress. And this one will be great once the weather warms too.
