The thing that I miss most about the leaving of summer is clearly the dresses  and heat, but second to that, I miss riding my bike. I know some people ride their bike all year long here, and I totally get that. Cover up and use proper clothing and it’s good to go. But I don’t find it enjoyable. I find it frustrating. I am built for heat, and that means that while I have a high tolerance for high temperatures and humidity, I have a shockingly low tolerance for the cold.

Riding for forty-five minutes *how long it takes me to get downtown* is not something I’m looking forward to in frigid weather. And so the bike gets put away when the temperature drops. That, is sad to me. I’d love to use that puppy all year round. I’ll soon be saying goodbye to my old friend…until the next season.
