On a hot day, I mean one of those scorching, humid, oppressive days, is there anything better than a crisp glass of iced tea with lemon? My girl and I were out, and we headed to our local shop, Super Coffee, and they had that on offer. It was the perfect thing. The second that liquid hit my tongue things got better.
I love that about hot, hot days, and cold, cold days. *though I prefer the heat to the cold much more* The simple pleasures become appreciated. Like a cool breeze on your hot skin, or the oscillation of a fan, or a momentary respite under some shade. Those tactile sensations suddenly become so heightened and our senses come alive.
Maybe that’s why I also love soft flowing fabrics – it’s like a tease of the wind or the gentlest reminder to appreciate those simple pleasures.
