Funny, those words. I adore and use those words, but I don’t like the term “love” for its vagueness. I wish we had words to differentiate love. There are many I love, but the quality of each love is different. I wish we had words to define those qualities. Because then you could say to a friend, “I *love* you” without them getting all weirded out – especially when it’s dear friends of the opposite sex.

There’s a tendency to assume that there’s only one kind of love – romantic love – but there isn’t. And unless there’s an overt and implicit understanding, people can get very uncomfortable if you say that. But I wish there were different words, for sexual love, familial love, friendship love, and even acquaintance love. I know, weird concepts.

Because I’d like to tell more people that I love them, but to be specific so as not to create misunderstanding. And I myself, would like to hear that more too, but again without misunderstanding. ‘Cause who wouldn’t want more love in the world?
