What is it? Really? To me, mom style is the style of a woman who happens to be a mom. I know to some it means dowdy, or haphazard. But I disagree. How did we women get to be moms? By being hot, and attractive…because let’s think a moment about how one becomes pregnant. Think on that for a moment.
Now that you’ve thought about it.
I believe it’s a misnomer to think that once one has a child one has to suddenly forget that you have curves and sex appeal. Yes, there are the pressures of time and the constraints given to thinking about style. But jeans, a fun top, and great hat would solve any and all such occasional time constraints, would they not?
Those are my two cents for the day.

August 13, 2014THANK you. I still find myself struggling to some extent to find the new "normal" in my style, but I totally agree. There is very little that frustrates me more than people assuming that because I have 2 little guys that "frumpy sweat suits" are (and should be) my go to outfit. Sure, 2 kids under 5 has put the kabosh on, well, anything dry-clean-only for instance, but I still want to look hot dangit!

August 13, 2014Oh yes for sure! There are many things – that are dry clean only – that only get worn when I know I'm going out solo without my girl. And they're reserved for such special occasions. As you know, it's not about being exactly the same as before – running after a toddler in heels?!?!?! – it's about still being the sexy, stylish, and attractive woman you are. Different, but still the same.
Two kids means nothing in terms of your style – it just means you have two awesome guys to tell you how gorgeous you look 😉 And you should still look hot, I mean, how did you get those two kids right ? 😉
Thanks so much for you comment.

August 13, 2014Thanks so much Jessica. I was going to hem these jeans, then I just cut them off and frayed them – made them intentionally raw hemmed jeans and I love it 'cause it suits my style.

August 15, 2014Lovely outfit!
I admit, it's not hard to jump to the sweat pants conclusion when you hear mom style. But that's on us to change that, because the association wouldn't be there in the first place if not for a lot of mom's actually wearing only that. And I know all to well how easy it is to get into that rut.
However, I agree with you. Putting a pair of nice pants or a pair of sweat pants… it's the same, it's the same amount of work and nice doesn't have to mean difficult. Just don't keep the sweat pants within easy reach to avoid automatic grabbing 😛

August 15, 2014Oh yes I agree, it's very easy to fall into it. 100% agree. And yes, the best way is just to pack it away. Leave only the nice and comfortable things out and then it takes just a touch more effort.
Plus, my girl watches me get ready. She plays on my bed while I get dressed, and do some make-up, and hair. I think it's good to show her that Mama takes care of herself, and that taking care of yourself helps you to feel better and therefore be better with everyone else.
