Do you ever just want to smack someone upside the head? Honestly, when did that go out of style? I have at least three good instances in a week where I think someone just plain old deserves a good smack upside the head. You know, a nice and easy, not too hard, smack just to shake some things around and hopefully uproot the common sense that has been lying dormant in there. I know, I’m a very cheerful and optimistic person….I’m assuming that they have some common sense to shake up.
When waiting for a bus you can:
a) Check your email, facebook, and twitter.
b) Take outfit photos
c) Have melting snow slowly drip on your head
d) All of the above
Thanks to Android phone apps, I was able to see that I had 15 minutes before my intended bus arrived at the stop. So, spotting a nearby obliging alley I decided to abandon option ‘c’ and instead retrieve my mini tripod, to do option ‘b.’ That still left me option ‘a’ with which to kill the last four minutes.
If you were in any of the gazillion cars that witnessed this, I’m not crazy, just a blogger…which is often easily interchangeable.
When I’m at my mom’s house I just want to sit and chill in comfy sweaters and under cozy blankets. So that’s what I did, when I wasn’t running around after a little toddler obsessed with the piano. I kind of miss the days when I was the kid when I came home, and just had the chance to laze and lounge. That’s no longer the case as I have my own little one, though it is fun to see her oooh and aaah at the big Christmas tree.
Do you know who I love hanging out with? My daughter. Okay, yeah, I know it goes without saying so. You love your children and you have to and that’s normal. But I’m noticing that as she’s getting older, though I’m missing the baby cuddles, I’m loving the new fun and quirky girl I get to hang out with. She’s so weird and she finds the oddest things funny! What happens though, is that I end up laughing at those things too. And so we spend a day full of laughing at weird things, and having strange conversations, and celebrating her farts.
Now it may not be high brow, and I may still need the occasional adult conversation, but I must say it’s becoming fun to hang out with her as a person and not just as my baby.
