I’ve already mentioned that I tutor my Girl. Well, we’ve been working through a section of Geography that talks about demographics, and QOL around the world.

It also goes into the difference between causation and correlation. But when talking about QOL in various countries it was fascinating to see her blindness. She’s been blessed to grow up in Canada, and she didn’t see the privilege of that – straight honest blindness. She didn’t see that access to education, fresh clean water, and free healthcare is a privilege that not everyone has. And in one way, I’m super grateful for her ignorance (because again, it means she’s been blessed) but it’s also been good to open her eyes to the fact that it is a privilege and not one shared by everyone.
