Morning gave us some cool relief, and we came to the stairs that let you go down into the gorge.

You can wade, stare at the 22-metre-high cliffs on either side and generally pretend you’re on some sort of Lord of the Rings-esque adventure. At least that’s what I do.

Don’t forget to check out the ‘Tooth of Time’, as it’s called. It stands in the middle of the ramp falls, and the walk from town to see it is wonderful. Stop by the overhanging Lover’s Leap for a panoramic view.
