I’m born and part raised in Poland, but my maternal grandmother is Kaszubian.
It’s a subsection of the Polish with a very unique history and a language/dialect that’s very different from the rest of Polish. With my recently developed love of embroidery, I delved deep into my roots by getting my hands on all the kaszubian embroidery patterns I could manage. And with a sale/clearance black dress, I decided to draw and then embroider these patterns, sticking closely to the stitching traditions and the patterns, but deviating to colors that sparked my fancy and that gave me joy.
Now onto the next project.
Dress – UO clearance, embroidered entirely by me.
Top & boots – thrifted
