There’s a study that’s been done that says those who write that angry email but do not hit send, actually process their emotions better and manage to resolve conflicts better.

I think that’s basically the same argument for the journal one keeps. In fact, I would say that it’s better to write that angry email in a text document OR in a journal, but not in your email program. Why? Because it’s far too easy to hit ‘send’ – whether intentionally or by accident. And overall, it’s better the more steps you put between writing the angry thing and sending the angry thing. Generally speaking, we are not at our best in anger. So that’s what I did – in the journal.
