…is awesome, but travelling for 30 hours is so not.
They dropped me off at the airport. She was very sad that I was leaving, whereas I was excited about an adventure. I knew I would miss them, but I also knew I’d be back. In the meantime, it would be nice to venture out into the world solo.
Check in and security were a breeze – in fact they were downright empty, and I’ve never had that happen to me yet.
I was excited to begin my trip tea in hand and all eagerness.
Oh how stupid and naive I was. Let me just say that thirty hours of travel, with two layovers, in economy sucks big time! I had no sleep, was totally cramped, had my ass fall asleep three times, and got a cramp in my neck that didn’t go away for three days. Seriously, it crunched for three days. Plus, due to the lack of water provided on the plane, and the naturally dry air inside, I was completely dehydrated and that made me feel even worse.
During my last stopover in Aukland, I was very much the wizened traveler and a whole more grumpy.
But I got there – at 10:45am Adelaide, Australia time! And that’s all to come…
Sweater and top – thrifted
Sweatpants – Winners

December 19, 2018Hi Jo, great photos! I hope you eventually got your luggage. Sounds like your trip pm the plane to Australia was exhausting. I do get the impression that your time there was amazing. I hope the trip home was much better.

December 19, 2018I never had an issue with luggage. Sorry if that’s what somehow got communicated. Nope – no issues there 🙂 Yes, the flights were exhausting, but that’s par for the course with long air travel 🙂
