Here’s a quick outfit from a couple of days ago, you know before it got too cold to breathe. It was a unicorn of a Winter day: I could wear bare legs. Crazy I know!

The day also made me realize that I miss wearing dresses. But frankly my dear, it’s too cold. Right now, I’m into the double pants, or thermal long underwear scene.

Or just bundling up in front of the space heater and never leaving the house.

Rural Polish Lass

I’ve worked with eShakti before. They always have a great selection of classic pieces, and whenever we get the chance to work together, I always end up with a wonderful addition to my wardrobe. This time was no exception. I selected this gorgeous red boho dress from their holiday collection, and because their pieces are customizable, I decided to make the sleeves on the dress full length.

I wanted a dress that was geared more towards Winter, rather then towards Summer, not that you can’t wear this dress on a cooler summer day, just that I had a specific idea in mind. I’m so happy with the way the longer sleeves turned out.

The dress now has a great boho-folk feeling to it. Something that’s fitting, as I’m a girl from rural Poland *not 100% true, I split my time between urban and rural Poland – but still braided Polish lass here* so the braided farm girl thing is in my blood.

And as a last note, can we take a moment to talk about the red? I couldn’t resist this bold red. I’m having a love affair with red lately. Something about it has me enchanted.

Braids When You Don’t Have Time

Can we talk about how awesome braids are? They’re really easy, and take little time *this took me 10 minutes* but look like you really put in an effort. Oh, and you can pretend your hair is super clean when really you’re just too darn busy to give it a wash.

Yeah, I can really get behind anything that allows me to save time.

Morning Dates, And The End of an Era

Morning coffee dates have become kind of a thing with me and my girl lately. When us ladies are home alone, we usually take the little walk over to the nice new coffee shop that opened in our neighborhood. I get my coffee, and she gets her almond croissant.

Then, with a smile and a hug she convinces me to go over to the park too *not that I need much convincing, but I like the extra hug* It’s our routine. Which is about to end as she heads off to school tomorrow. But in the meantime, I’m going to enjoy our last coffee date today.

Weakness For Boats, and Other Sartorial Elements

As a preteen and teen I spent a lot of time on the water, sailing. It was the thing that I would do practically every weekend in decent weather. I studied knots, and techniques, and radio regulations, etc. etc. While I don’t do that now, I do have a severe weakness for a good boat print. When it’s a sailboat print on a blue dress with ruffles, it’s pretty much three weaknesses in one.
