Here the medina shale is left exposed and creates this dramatic landscape void of vegetation right in the heart of lush Ontario.
It’s not totally natural, it’s a result of settlers clearing land and cattle grazing, but it revealed a resource for brick making and that brought about a boom in the area.
And if you’re making a plan to see them, the other fork in the road is a lovely easy hike along a section of the Bruce Trail and definitely extends your trip in a beautiful way.
